A Picnic
We packed a picnic lunch, set off for Oxbow Regional Park and ended up at Dabney State Recreation Site. They're close to each other, but on opposite sides of the Sandy River.

Swift Migration
Every year from mid-August to mid-October, Vaux's Swifts stop by the Chapman Elementary School in Portland. Thousands roost for the evening in the school's abandoned, 1920's chimney. Their arrival is quite an event. We went to see it.

The Game
Ohio State's first football game of the season was tonight ... during the time we were off watching the Swifts. Texas buddy, Bruce Stevenson, shared the highlights via text messages. OSU 42 - Virginia Tech 24. Thanks for sharing, Bruce. Go Bucks!
