Day 23 - Newberg, OR to Portland, OR

Today we make a short move to Tim & Elizabeth's home in Portland. It's supposed to rain some today, which will make the hitch-up and go process a bit more interesting.

The Morning
We had intermittent, misty rain before noon.

Carol and Barbara went for a mother-daughter breakfast.

Kenny, Dick and William took a trip to Fry's Electronics in Wilsonville after mom and grandma returned from their outing. Product selection went well, but a power outage really slowed down our exit. All orders were being processed by hand ... cash or check only. We were in the checkout line about 45 minutes. William was amazingly calm through the entire ordeal.

The Afternoon
The morning activities delayed our start of the trailer hitch-up process and it worked out very well. The sun was out when we finally got started.

ball under the hitch.
It's time to say goodbye.

The Route
The journey was only 34 miles. We left Newberg on OR-99, then took I-5N to Portland.

The Portland Landing
Our stay in Portland will be much different than other stops. The trailer will be parked on a residential street and we'll stay in Tim and Elizabeth's home. The trickiest part is parking on a narrow street by putting the curb-side tires up onto a driveway ramp. Essentially, we parallel park the trailer.
Oh, ya. Don't forget to miss
the power pole and car behind ...
and the sapling in the tree lawn ahead.
This is our 299th set-up.

We'll be here until next Monday.
