Day 28 - Portland, OR (Day 6)

Today we had to move the trailer from its perfect parking spot.

Airstream Service
Dick took the trailer to Adventures Northwest Airstream in Gladstone to have a loose bearing dust cap checked. It was a worthwhile 25 mile round trip because it eliminated any concern for a wheel bearing problem. The fix involved re-bending some retainer tabs and reinstalling the cap. There was no charge.

The dealer was impressive. The staff were professional and friendly. They had approximately 75 new Airstreams on the lot. Our service representative, Tim Reese, said they sold 30 last month and have hovered around the first or second largest distributor in the country for quite a while. The place was really hopping.

The trailer was returned to its original parking place (kind'a). It was done without spotters, so it's not as far off the street as before.

A Night Out
Jacob and Anna had overnight commitments, so the adults went out for a night on the town.

We find Portland to be interesting and attractive. It's multi-cultural and full of activity. The downtown area is as or perhaps even more attractive than the suburbs. It was teeming with activity tonight.

Our first stop was Portland City Grill. It's a classy restaurant and bar on the 30th floor of U.S. Bancorp Tower. The views of the city are wonderful. It was a fun place for a drink and hors d'oeuvres.

Then we walked to another restaurant for dinner. We found it a bit pricey, so we continued on to Mayas Taqueria for a fun Mexican dinner.

Scenes Along the Way
Across SW 10th Ave. from Mayas Taqueria
There's lots of trolley traffic.
The views are alive with color, lots of trees
 and various architecture styles.

We ended the day with an episode of Leverage on Netflix.

We were in bed by 9:30. The old folks had a wild night out, huh?
